Anderson Valley Wineries Map The Anderson Valley is a cool climate region located only ten to fifteen miles from the Pacific Ocean and two and a half hours north of San Francisco. The narrow valley parallels the Pacific Ocean with highway 128 running its length. The three towns located within the Anderson Valley AVA: Boonville, Philo, and Navarro have a combined population of approximately 1200 people. With approximately forty wineries, Anderson Valley provides one of the best winery-to-population ratios within California. Even better, most of the wineries are conveniently located along highway 128. Anderson Valley is recognized as one of California’s best regions for growing Pinot Noir, and Anderson Valley Pinot Noirs are commonly described as elegant with good acidity and black cherry, raspberry, strawberry, plum and earth flavors. Wineries located outside of Anderson Valley also make exceptional wines from Anderson Valley fruit. The most notable being Adrian Fog, Hartford Court, Littorai, Copain, Radio-Coteau, Siduri, and Williams-Selyem.
