The Naches Heights American Viticultural Area (AVA), established in 2012, is Washington’s 12th AVA and is contained within the larger Columbia Valley AVA. Naches Heights is distinctive because every vineyard in the appellation is certified organic, biodynamic or sustainable. Naches Heights vineyards are located in volcanic soils on an elevated plateau that ranges from 1,200 feet to 2,100 feet in elevation. The Naches Heights AVA is small, only 13,254 acres in size, and is generally warm and dry.
