The Hermann AVA, established in 1987, is a sub-region of the larger Ozark Mountain AVA. The AVA is located on the southern side of the Missouri River near the town of Hermann and covers the northern-most hills of the Ozark Plateau. The Hermann area was founded in the 1830s by settlers from the German Settlement Society of Philadelphia, and several modern Hermann wineries can trace their roots back to their original founding in the 1840’s and 1850’s. There are a limited number of Hermann wineries, but all provide wine tasting opportunities. Scroll down for a comprehensive list of Hermann AVA wineries and click “map view” to access the advanced winery search. Whether you would like to visit a winery that provides beautiful vineyard lodging, has food available to complement its wines, or hosts vineyard weddings, we make it easy to find the best wine tour and tasting destinations in the Hermann region.
